Mom’s Barbecue

The fact is that my mom was never a great cook. Growing up we ate a lot of takeout food and a lot of things that came from a box. As a kid you don’t really care about such things, takeout food and things from a box are some of the best kids meals!
But one meal I do remember fondly is my mom’s barbecue and on a recent cold fall New Hampshire day, I called my mom to get her recipe. Like I am want to do, I often take a recipe and change it and that is what I did with the following recipe, that I still am going to dedicate in name to my mom.
| Mom’s Barbecue | |
| 3 lbs. of ground beef 2 cups of ketchup 2 cloves of garlic (minced) 3 tablespoons of lemon juice 4 tablespoons of Worchestire Sauce |
4 tablespoons of horseradish mustard 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 teaspoons of dried chipolte seasoning 4 tablespoons of brown sugar 1 package of potato rolls |
| Shop for all of These Ingredients At Home with Safeway |
|
| Brown the ground beef in a large frying pan. While the beef is browning, mix all of the other ingredients in large crockpot. Once the beef is browned, pour off all of the grease. Mix the ground beef in with the sauce mixture in the crockpot. Let it cook on medium for at least 4 hours. Serve with the potato rolls as sandwiches or open faced with a knife and fork. Serves 6. | |
