Mom’s Wonderful Waffles
July 11th, 2007 by Michele
Recently, I reviewed my Toastmaster Belgian Waffle Maker. I received a comment to that posting requesting my waffle recipe. Here is the recipe that I have used for countless morning meals.
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 Tb. sugar
1 Tb. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups milk (I use skim)
2 eggs
3 Tb. unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
Heat waffle maker, per owner’s manual.
In an 8-cup measuring cup, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a 4-cup measuring cup, whisk together milk, eggs, cooled melted butter, and vanilla. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients. Stir until just moistened. (Batter will be lumpy.)
Pour batter into lightly greased waffle maker, and bake according to manufacturer’s instructions. When waffle is ready, serve immediately. (Waffles lose their crunchiness if stacked while waiting to serve.)
Top with butter and syrup, chocolate chips, or fresh strawberries or kiwi fruit and whipped cream.
Makes 6-8 waffles, depending on the size of your waffle maker.

Do you think this recipe would work with Simply Smart?

I would suggest that you check the packaging on your Simply Smart to see if it can be used for baking and cooking.
